A very warm Autumn greeting to all of you out there on this the first few days of the Fall season. Here’s hoping that you and your respective families are in the best of health as we say goodbye to another wonderful season of golf at the Brother’s Golf Tournaments…and what a season it has been! I’m sure many of you will be disappointed to hear that this is the “final email” from yours truly for rest of the year….but rest assured my golfing/non golfing friends, our first golf tournament next year (2010) is only 242 days away….
Anyway, with the official end of summer occurring less than 24 hours ago or more depending of course on when you are actually reading this, The Brothers’ Golf Tournament season also came to an official end this past Sunday at the award winning Angus Glen Golf Course in Markham, Ontario.
The Showdown in the North was truly played on a gorgeous late summer Sunday afternoon with temperatures hovering around the mid 20’s and our 36 gladiators were in fine form. There was truly a competitive atmosphere in the air as both teams wearing their respective colours(red and black) were also wearing their game faces as the battle for the coveted B*RYDER CUP was about to unfold. Friendships were all put aside as the competitive desire took over as each participant was determined to do their very best to win that (1) one point for their respective team.
So Ladies and Gentlemen, golfers and non golfers, followers and readers of the Brother’s Golf Tournaments, it is with great pleasure to once again present to you the 2009 B*RYDER CUP CHAMPIONS:
TEAM WEST-MEN IN BLACK
Yes ladies and gentlemen, Team West (Men in Black) once again led by Captain Richard Dujon, sent the Red Beast from the East back home with another crushing defeat by a final score of 6 ½ to 2 ½ (best of 9 matches played). The now 3 time Defending Champions TEAM WEST now leads the overall series 3-2 and will be vying for the 4peat next September.
On behalf of TEAM EAST, let me once again congratulate all the winning members of TEAM WEST (Men in Black) an recognize each member of the now 3x Defending Champions:

So again, what does this all mean?
Simply this:
1. TEAM WEST and all the golfers they represent living in the following cities/regions (Brampton, Caledon, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Barrie and GTA West) can all BRAG that the best golfers amongst our little group continues to reside in the WEST….
2. TEAM WEST and all the golfers from the WEST will have bragging rights the next 363 days…
3. All 18 names of the golfers above will be forever engraved on the Prestigious B*RYDER CUP and forever also on our 19th Hole Wall of Fame on our website.
4. TEAM WEST will chose whatever golf course they wish to play and defend the CUP next year….
5. TEAM WEST as mentioned earlier now leads the series 3-2. (complete scores of Sunday’s 9 matches will be on our website over the next few days)
Well folks, this is indeed the Final Chapter. A chapter that must be written as we say goodbye to another great season of golfing together. We have managed to average in excess of well over 85 golfers for each of our 3 MAJORS this summer as well as over attract well over 60 new golfers to our 4 tournaments held this year. Congrats and welcome to the 6 new MAJOR CHAMPIONS to the CHAMPIONS CLUB and the 19th Hole Wall of Fame this summer (Clive Anderson, Copie Senior, Robert Sterling, Nigel Isaac, Barry Moore and Mark Otto…..congrats also to the Grand Champion of our 8th Annual Brothers’ Invitational/Family BBO, Adrian St.Kitts)
Let me also say thanks again to all those who have ventured out with us at least once this summer and to all the new comers, we want to see you all back again next summer and bring a friend or two. For those of you whom we did not see this summer or for the past few summers, we hope your schedule allows you more time in 2010 to come out and golf with us….you are MISSED!!
On behalf of the Brothers’ Tournament, I will be attending the upcoming 15th Anniversary Gala & Annual Beverly Mascoll Scholarship Award Celebration presented by Camp Jumoke (www.jumoke.org) this coming Saturday. I will have the pleasure to present to the Children of Camp Jumoke (summer camp for children living with sickle cell) a cheque for $5000.00 thanks to our many golfers and sponsors and donors this past summer.
We are now in excess of raising well over $17,000 in the 4 years since our affiliation with this well deserving charity. More importantly, many of us are talking about sickle cell and its’ painful and sometimes deadly effects on these children and adults alike and this form of awareness in our communities is quite frankly, PRICELESS!
Finally, it has been a true pleasure in getting to know each and everyone one of you whether it be at the golf course or just through emails every now and then. It is my sincere hope that you continue to appreciate and cherish the friendships made through this silly sport we called golf. Be sure to check out our website over the winter months as we hope to update and upgrade each page with some new and exciting news. The Fab Fore will be planning their annual meeting over the next few months with hopes of securing all 6 tournament sites for the 2010 season. I did say 6 instead of the usual 5 because we are hoping to add a “special tournament” next summer called G.O.L.F…….(Gals Only, Lads Forbidden)…That’s right Ladies, it’s a LADIES ONLY 9 hole tournament (details will be posted on our website over the next few months)
Once again folks, the pleasure has been mine……take good care of yourself, each other and your respective love ones over the coming cold, winter months and I hope to see/hear you all back here sometime next spring…God willing.
As Always, With Much Respect and Appreciation…..
God Bless
