The Brothers Golf Tournament
"F u n   f o r   a l l"

Greetings and Salutations everyone.  As per usual, here’s hoping you and your respective families are in the best of health during these last few remaining days of warm golfing weather.  It is the Home Office of the Brothers’ Tournament signing in for “one last email” of the golfing season.

With the official end to summer occurring less than 48 hours ago, (depending on when you are actually reading this email), The Brothers’ Golf Tournaments also came to an official end this past Sunday evening at approximately 5:48pm as our last foursome were walking off the 18th green at the prestigious Masters Golf Course at Lionhead Golf and Country Club in Brampton, Ontario.

The SHOWDOWN in the West-The 2008 B*RYDER CUP was contested on a beautiful, sunny day, as our cast of characters (be sure to check out the attachment of our handsome competitors), including yours truly, wore their respective team colours proudly (black and red), their passion and spirit on their sleeves as the emotions were clearly elevated for what was about to take place on this prestigious golf course.  You could feel the tension in the cool, crisp autumn air as both teams took to the first tee for their respective tee times.  In what is becoming a truly epic competition for the Coveted CUP, the mix of seasoned B*RYDER CUP veterans and the record number of rookies/first timers to this years’ competition (13) showed true gamesmanship, friendship and a competitive desire and will to win for their respective team.  As you know we can only have one Champion so ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to again present to you the 2008 B*RYDER CUP CHAMPIONS:

TEAM WEST-MEN IN BLACK

Yes folks, Team WEST, (Men in Black) led by Captain Richard Dujon, defeated the Red Beast from the EAST by a final score of 5 ½ to 2 ½ .  The now 2 Time Defending Champions Team WEST will be vying for the 3-peat next summer…a feat that has yet to be accomplished in our short history of this competition.  Team EAST in the first two years of this Match was repeat winners but never 3-peat. Team WEST will have this opportunity next summer.

On behalf of Team EAST, let me once again congratulate all the members of TEAM WEST (Men in Black) and recognize the now 2 time Defending CHAMPIONS:

Folks, it’s almost time to put away the clubs for another golfing season and I know many of you diehard golfers out there will be swinging up until the snow start to flies…..but before I officially close this final chapter on the 6th year of the Brothers’ Golf Tournaments, let me just take a moment to say it has been a pleasure getting to meet with many of you at the golf courses and through your emails over the summer months and I have truly enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of our little group of golfers.  I encourage all of you to continue to spread the word in your circles about our little golfing group which will ensure that next years’ tournaments we continue to bring in new golfers as well as new friends…..

….and last but certainly not least……

“Lest we forget the children of Camp Jumoke…..”

Please take a look at the attached link www.jumoke.org  for a special upcoming event hosted by Camp Jumoke, The 5th Annual Beverley Mascoll Scholarship Award Brunch, Sunday October, 19th and also see the attached link www.jumoke.org/articles/2008-poster-child.asp and read all about this special child, Neneh-Iye-Bundu, Camp Jumoke poster child for 2008.  (I’ll warn you now, have a box of Kleenex handy…if you never read another email by yours truly, please take the time to read just this one letter by this brave young girl)…

FYI…there will be a Special Presentation to our Fab Fore Team for our on-going support of Camp Jumoke at this Brunch.  If you would like to show your support and appreciation and you have not made it out to any of our golfing tournaments this summer, you can still do your “small” part.  (please be sure to get in contact with the team at Camp Jumoke for ticket info through their website below)

BTW: remember our silent auction that we were supposed to have on-line, well, it so happens that at this upcoming Camp Jumoke Brunch, they too will be having a silent auction…so we have decided to donate all of your incredible donations/prizes to Camp Jumoke for their silent auction……So now you have another reason to attend….

Our website will be updated over the coming months with all the venues/golf courses for all of our 2009 tournaments.  Be sure to check it out every so often over the cold winter months and pencil in all the dates for our tournaments. The Fab Fore will be getting together over the next few weeks to plan our 2009 golfing season…and yes, we have booked a couple of our venues for next years’ tournaments already.

Finally, it has indeed been a pleasure to keep you all informed of all the events going on in our little golfing community over the past 5 months.  It is my sincere hope that you continue to appreciate the friendships made just by golfing together.  Take good care of yourself, each other and your respective love ones over the coming cold Fall/Winter/Early Spring months and of course over the Holiday Season.

Talk/See you all next Spring ‘09 …..if not sooner…..

As Always, With Much Respect and Appreciation….

God Bless.

Signing off…..
